| Your Chapter Strategic Planning Retreat: |
| |
| The best way to ensure that you are an engaging leader who involves each member of your chapter in the vision of the organization is to hold a strategic planning retreat. You have undoubtedly heard the phrase: "People support that which they help create." Give your chapter a chance to help you create a direction for the upcoming year! |

| |
| Take a step back to evaluate: |
What is the chapter's current vision process? |
Does the chapter have a current vision for where you want to be at the end of the semester/quarter? The end of the year? Three years from now? |
Why is it important to involve a large number of brothers and brothers-to-be in the vision creation process? |
How can you properly measure your progress towards your vision? How can you instill "red flag mechanisms" to get everyone back on track if you stray from your vision? |
| |
The Strategic Planning Retreat is designed to set the chapter's vision and execution strategy for the upcoming year and beyond. It not only serves the purpose of setting a direction, but the resulting unity, buy- in and camarderie can facilitate unbelievable success and chapter cohesion. |

| It is crucial to involve as much of the chapter and local alumni as possible. This event should be viewed as the building of the "blueprint" of the future of your chapter - because of this it is important to set the tone of the vent early on and to keep it a "dry" event. It's certainly okay to celebrate afterwards, but make sure that everybody is focused during the day. With properly set expectations, you will be surprised how many brothers who have traditionally been reserved in their input break that shell and become an active participant. |
